BlackBerry PlayBook is awesome dual-core goodness

iPad behold, your new competitor from Research In Motion has certain features that may topple your dominance in the tablet segment. The BlackBerry PlayBook will run a new OS called BlackBerry Tablet OS that bears no resemblance of the current BlackBerry OS and will support every modern web format (Flash, AIR, HTML5). The OS looks like a webOS BB style with apps presented as thumbnails and multitasked by scrolling through.

What impresses me the most is its ecosystem. Out of the box you can pair a BlackBerry smartphone and everything ‘just works’, isn’t that something Apple is supposed to achieve with the iPad? Well RIM beat them to it! Also having HDMI is just ingenious and may be the best hardware feature yet.

Blackberry Bold reviewed

Gizmodo took the new BlackBerry Bold for a review and found out that it’s the best BlackBerry ever made. Too bad Gmail IMAP and BlackBerry BIS doesn’t play nicely or else I’d be very tempted to switch.

Also, some AT&T employee reported $299 price tag for BB Bold. Why is it that the Americans get to save $100? I understand that longer contract terms from Rogers is due to the fact that we have significantly less people who can subscribe to the wireless provider but isn’t hardware pricing dictated by the manufacturer? Come on RIM, show some backbone and do some dictating.
